Banner Medical Center (University of Arizona’s Med. School) launched drive-through testing for COVID-19 in the parking lot outside the Emergency entrance. People who think they have symptoms need to call 1-844-549-1851 to speak with a clinical team member, who will determine if testing is called for. The phone line will be staffed on Monday-Thursday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
I stopped by and can tell you that it is not like the photos we have seen of testing in other parts of the country. Very orderly. No long lines. I counted about 20+ cars, including 3 in the left turn lane waiting to enter the driveway.
As of 2:30 p.m. on Friday, March 20 there were officially 63 positive COVID-19 cases in Arizona. Here is the official Arizona state health report. You can also see the global COVID-19 report produced by Johns Hopkins University here. Both these reports are updated frequently during the day.
Update: As of 11a.m. on Monday, March 23 there were officially 234 positive cases in Arizona and 367,038 worldwide.
Stay safe. Wash your hands with soap because soap will actually dissolve parts of the virus.
