Snow on the Santa Catalina Mountains outside Tucson

You can drive right up to the top of the Santa Catalina Mountains but maybe not today. The police have blocked access on the Catalina Highway off and on during the past few days. At the top of Mt. Lemmon, a high peak in the Catalinas, is a little village called Summerhaven and I heard something about plans to built a ski resort up there. I’ll wait til Spring to visit. Meanwhile I’ll just admire the beauty of these snow covered mountains from a distance.

Oh, the temperature in Tucson got down to below freezing last night, but no snow here in Mid City. The historical average daytime temperature in December in Tucson is 64F. Not going to be that warm any day this week!
